The House of Now and Then - Jo Dixon

After a humiliating public scandal, Olivia is hiding from the press in a remote Tasmanian house when an unknown man knocks on her door, seeking Pippa, a woman who once lived there.

Thirty years earlier, bohemian wild-child Pippa and her best friend Jeremy spend a perfect summer in the house. Pippa falls deeply in love with local boy Leo, who leaves one night to confront his conservative and controlling parents ... and is never seen again.

As the tragic story of Pippa, Jeremy and Leo is slowly uncovered, a path for Olivia to reclaim her own life opens ... if she has the courage to take it.

The House of Brides - Jane Cockram

Miranda's late mother, well-known author Tessa Summer, left behind her bestselling book The House of Brides-a book that chronicled the generations of brides who married into the infamous Summer family, only to find tragedy.

When Miranda's successful career as a social media influencer comes crashing down, she receives a mysterious letter from a Summer cousin, asking for her help.

Curious about the legendary family, Miranda poses as a prospective nanny at the beautiful Barnsley House in England. But nothing is as she expects and the most recent 'bride', the lovely and effervescent Daphne, is gone. Will Miranda discover what darkness lies hidden and, if she does, will she survive it

Author Bio

Jane Cockram was born and educated in Australia, where she studied Journalism at RMIT, majoring in Literature. After earning a post-graduate diploma in Publishing and Communication at Melbourne University, she worked in sales for Pan Macmillan Publishers and then as fiction buyer at Borders, fulfilling a childhood dream of reading for a living. Cockram spent a year living in the West Country of England, where The House of Brides is set, and still daydreams about returning. In the meantime, she resides in Melbourne with her husband and two children. Jo lives in rural Tasmania, where she wrangles an ever-growing collection of animals and is kept busy transforming blackberry-infested paddocks into beautiful gardens. She has been a dental assistant, an event coordinator, and a sales rep in the travel industry. Now she writes full-time, creating twisty, suspenseful stories that feature flawed characters who've made mistakes, but who turn out to be stronger than they think. Jo's debut novel The House of Now and Then was released in 2023. A Shadow at the Door is her second book.
