Author Bio
John Dewey (1859-1952) authored over a dozen books and scores of articles in both scholarly and popular publications. He rightly deserves the title of America's foremost philosopher and his work will influence intellectuals throughout the world for many years to come. Ian Shapiro is Sterling Professor of Political Science at Yale University, where he also serves as Henry R. Luce Director of the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies.
