With the assistance ofGarrys partner, Angela Emslie, The Shannon Company has compiled a selection of papers, speeches, poems and even a few songs penned byGarryWeavenover the course of his 40-year connection to the superannuation industry.
Combined with a few photographs and some enlightening press clippings, this collection tells a story written, as it were, between the lines, of the remarkable journey of Australias superannuation system and provides glimpses of the spirit of the person who has undoubtedly been one of its leading lights.
The story of the Industry Super Funds movement and the undeniable, life changing impact it has made on the lives of millions of Australian workers and their loved ones is an important story.
Yet, with its layers of complexity and necessary adaptation, it was a relatively difficult narrative to understand and consume, until now.
Weaven Words tells the story of the remarkable growth and development of Superannuation in Australia in an enjoyable and digestible way.
Whether you simply pick up this book to browse through, or focus on a specific article or speech, or even enjoy a line or two of poetry, all will reveal the super charged mind of Garry Weaven.
Industry Super has famously been referred to as the Super of the Future. I am certain this book will be part of that future.
