Word Imperfect is as readable and absorbing a memoir as might be expected from someone who has earned his living from word-spinning since graduating from famous US university Notre Dame, the years there a gift from his uncle Lowell, a multi-millionaire pioneer of Central American aviation. David Yerex writes: "Thinking back the best part of 80 years, my memories are far from word perfect. However, Word Imperfect allows me to share some of them and remember the people who changed and enriched my life in many ways."
David Yerex has done many things, with words on paper the one constant. A reporter on Wellington's Evening Post, syndicated agricultural writer in Britain, Director of Information at the Dairy Board, editor of the Journal of Agriculture, he also fronted TV's 'Country Calendar' and other programmes, headed his own PR company, and has written 20 books. In addition, he envisioned the farm holidays concept, began the NZ Guild of Agricultural Journalists, became a widely respected authority on deer farming, and spent satisfying years as a Wairarapa smallfarmer.
