Ainsley de Jong could dance this little girl with the face of a cherub.
Aaron and Amanda de Jong naturally cherished Ainsley from the moment she entered their lives. After rounds of IVF and the loss of another baby, Ainsley made them a mum and a dad. They could move forward after all the sadness with their newborn in their arms. But life is so unpredictable. Ainsley was soon diagnosed with a brain tumour. For years they watched their little girl fight for her life and succeed. Then the most tragic of events, a schoolyard accident, occurred and their worlds were turned upside down.
Without Ainsley, Aaron and Amanda struggled emotionally, but then they faced a wall of bureaucracy in their fight to get to the truth of what happened to Ainsley on that fateful day. This is Ainsleys story, this is Aaron and Amandas story, this is the story of things that can happen that no parent should ever have to go through.
What matters most to her parents though is not their own state of being. Its fulfilling the mission to give Ainsley a voice, to recognise her strong and extraordinary spirit, and to offer their daughter the dignity her beautiful life demanded.
Ainsley de Jong could dance.
