Author Bio

Petula Clark is a celebrated singer, actress and performer whose career spans over eight decades. Early success as a child star paved the way for a remarkable transition into adulthood. Her breakthrough came in the 1960s with the international hit 'Downtown' which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and earned her a Grammy Award for Best Rock & Roll Recording in 1965. Clark has sold more than 68 million records globally. Her success is not confined to English-speaking countries; she also achieved acclaim in France, where she was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque in 1958. In addition to her music career, Clark starred in Hollywood films such as Finian's Rainbow alongside Fred Astaire and Goodbye, Mr. Chips with Peter O'Toole. Her stage work includes critically acclaimed performances in musicals like Blood Brothers and Sunset Boulevard earning her a Laurence Olivier Award nomination. Clark has also hosted numerous TV specials and variety shows in both the UK and the US. She was honoured with a CBE in 1998 for her services to music and drama. Petula Clark continues to perform. She lives in Geneva and London. This is her first book.
