Philip Treacy (b. 1967) graduated in 1990 with an MA in FashionDesign from the Royal College of Arts in London. Treacy was discovered by thethen style editor of Tatler Isabella Blow. He soon became, and has remained, themilliner of choice for many top fashion designers, including Alexander McQueen,Karl Lagerfeld, and Valentino. Treacy's unique creations are hand-made to orderfor the likes of Grace Jones, Victoria Beckham, Madonna, the Duchess ofCambridge, and the daughters of Prince Andrew. He has designed hats for films,including the Harry Potter franchise, and has also developed ranges for high streetfashion outlets. Treacy is also the first milliner to have been invited to have hisown show during Paris couture week. Treacy is credited with changing theperception of hats and accessories in fashion. Marion Hume is the internationalfashion editor of The Australian Financial Review. Based between London andSydney, she contributes on a freelance basis to UK titles including the FinancialTimes, The Saturday Telegraph Magazine and ST Magazine. In the US, she hasbeen a contributing editor to Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Time Magazine/Style &Design and has contributed as a freelancer to W and The New York Times.
