Sophisto-punk tells Opitz s remarkable story, from his early days serving a musical apprenticeship as an engineer with AC/DC, under the legendary producers Harry Vanda and George Young. Opitz soon struck out on his own with a little-known Adelaide band, The Angels. He helped shape the group s trademark edgy sound Mark described it as sophisto-punk which propelled The Angels to rock stardom and launched his extraordinary career. Author Bio

Mark Opitz started his career as a production engineer in television. In 1975, he started work at EMI Studio 301 and went on to become Australia's most successful record producer. In a 30 years career Mark has worked with The Angels, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, The Divinyls, ACDC, Hoodoo Gurus, Australian Crawl, INXS, The Models, Kiss, Ray Charles and Bob Dylan.
