Stew not Stu-The Threads of A Life Time starts with his father, a Holocaust survivor and the main thread of the book. His father a tailor or a schneider in Yiddish with an incredible story of how trauma and survival gets passed on from generation to generation. For Stew it had an impactful way of how he survived and how he came to view and interpret the world. It starts with Stew in the middle of history at the UN watching Khruschev giving his "we shall bury you" speech, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the fear of Armageddon. Living -the incredible year of 1969 with Woodstock, the moon landing, and every New York Sports team beating every team from Baltimore. He share his rather unique and insightful, sometimes humorous view of history,political events, a conversation with god (small g) that will have you thinking and feeling with a different lens for a long time. His poignant reconciliation with his father will move you as well.
Stew Frimer has a BA in clinical psychology from City College of New York and an MSW in clinical social work from the University of Marilyn School of Social Work in Baltimore. He is a vocalist who has performed in a number of venues in NYC including Don't Tell Mama. He is an avid softball player who plays for a coed seniors softball team called Boys of Summer. Stew has a white two stripe belt from Tiger Schulman. You might find him on the dance floor or up in the air on a trapeze or on a set of parallel bars. He is the the author of "The Overly Active Child-A Guide For Parents and Professionals".
