Author Bio

Iain Dale is the founder and former managing director of Biteback Publishing. He is a presenter on LBC radio and is the winner of the Arqiva Radio Presenter of the Year award 2013 and 2016. He has made frequent appearances on TV news and political shows. In addition to his broadcasting work, he has written for the Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent, GQ, The Spectator, the Evening Standard, the New Statesman and the Eastern Daily Press. Iain has edited, written or compiled more than thirty books, including Memories of Margaret Thatcher, The Politicos Guide to the 2017 General Election and The NHS: Things That Need to Be Said. He lives in Tunbridge Wells. Jacqui Smith was Labour MP for Redditch from 1997 until 2010. While Tony Blair was Prime Minister, she held ministerial positions in Education, Health, Industry and Equalities before being appointed Chief Whip. She became Home Secretary in Gordon Brown's Cabinet - the first-ever female Home Secretary and only the third woman to hold one of the great offices of state. Following her parliamentary career, Jacqui is now chair of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and Sandwell Children's Trust. She also works on political development in Jordan and Egypt. She has featured regularly on TV and radio, presenting documentaries for BBC 5 Live and appearing on programmes such as Question Time and This Week. With co-editor Iain, she is a regular on Good Morning Britain, and the pair also co-host LBC weekly political podcast For The Many.
