- Ian S. Markham, Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary
As much an epiphany as a book. Sages, Saints, & Seers will feed your soul and inform your spirit. The story of Sages, told in vignettes, of the evolution of humanitys engagement with the Other across time, cultures, and religious contexts, is simple in its organization, accessible in its prose, and absolutely dynamic in its impact.
-Phyllis Tickle, author of The Divine Hours and The Great Emergence
Sages, Saints, & Seers is impressive in its breadth and in its accessibility. Schmidt manages to take us on an engaging tour through history and across many nations to glean wisdom, insight, and inspiration from women and men of all sorts and conditions. Im left wanting to learn more about many of these figures. Surely, that makes Schmidts book a great success.
