Manning Clark and Kathleen Fitzpatrick were influential Australian historians; they were both also gifted writers. Dr Susan Davies is senior lecturer in the faculty of education at the University of New England. She was educated at the University of Melbourne (BA, English and History) and in the Education faculty of Monash University (DipEd, MEd, PhD).
