From the million-copy bestselling author of Running with Scissors comes Augusten Burroughs' most provocative collection of true stories yet - a cautionary tale in essay form. Possible Side Effects enlightens us on the concept of cause and effect with its highly entertaining and amusing exploration of: Doll collecting. The Tooth Fairy. Incontinent dogs. Ebay addiction. Hot cardiologists. Available locksmiths. Lesbian personal ads. Junior Mints. Blind dates. Nicorette gum. Coffins (as bookcases). Grandmothers. Dry skin. College T-shirts. Santa Claus. Enforcing traffic laws. Julia Child.
'Energetic and funny and idiosyncratic' [The Age] 'It's clear why Burroughs was named one of the fifteen funniest people in America by Entertainment Weekly' [Herald Sun] 'one of the most compelling and screamingly funny voices of the new century' [USA Today] 'deliciously perverse' [People]
