-This is a perfect title for Breast Cancer Awareness (October). It is a very realistic portrayal of the fight against breast cancer, but because of the levity and humor Hosford uses as her defense against the terrible disease, it is easy to read and very comforting. Anyone who reads this book will be truly inspired.
-Having a baby is a monumental, life-altering experience, so is adopting a child; being diagnosed with cancer comes with its own transformative, emotional and physical entanglements. Now, imagine what it would be like to experience all three at once. Stephanie Hosford didnt have to imagine it, she lived it, and BALD, FAT & CRAZY is her heartfelt and humorous memoir chronicling her unique circumstances.
The odds for a positive outcome from pregnancy while battling cancer might seem improbably long, but Hosfords hopeful debut memoir proves that, with a little bit of luck and lots of grit, it is entirely possible. A ray of sunshine for those with similar struggles. Kirkus Reviews
By turns humorous and poignant, Stephanies story rings with honesty, courage and a fierce determination to triumph over cancer on her own terms. Robert Stone, President & CEO, City of Hope National Medical Center
Alternating between doctor opinions, her medical appointments, home life, and her personal struggles, Hosford has a keen ability to take uncomfortable subject matter and lighten it with a slew of hilarious commentary. Whether readers have experienced cancer or not, Bald, Fat, & Crazy is one story that will strike a chord for all! San Francisco Book Review
