Description

In her memoir, Deep Dive: Against The Odds, author and avid scuba diver Dorothy Myrick reflect on the experiences that led to the thrill of her lifetimegetting her scuba diving certification. She was terrified of being in water that was merely knee deep and now she is a certified scuba diver. Dorothy's story is not just one of overcoming a paralyzing fear, but one of doing so under extraordinary circumstances. She was born with a condition of the left arm called radial hemimelia. She recalls how she felt as a child growing up with this birth defect and how it produced an inner drive to never give up! This amazing journey of learning to scuba dive changed her lifealong with the ups and downs along the way. Deep Dive is a very personal telling of her resolve, determination and can-do-attitude, which so many should quickly connect and relate to.
