The author grew up in a small village of about 300 people in the Bavarian Alps and immigrated to the United States in 1963 at the age of 17.
This story is about her growing up in beautiful Bavaria. You will enjoy a special glimpse of time-honored history and customs as well as experience a taste of what she is all about, the traditions she treasured, the people she loved, and why she loved them so much.
The author shares that in writing this story, emotions ran high, at times she would laugh out loud, remembering something funny, and other times tears would fall, and it was painful to remember the past. That's when she had to remind herself that all these memories are gifts!
