"Lori Qian's debut memoir is a story of triumph, love, family, kindness,
and humor. Qian depicts frustration, resourcefulness, pain, and heroism
hidden in the lives of two people making great sacrifices for what they
hope will be a brighter future. As they persevere, they move to a wider
