Brooke Hemphill's first gig in the media was writing a regular feature for The Sydney Morning Herald called 'Table for Eight'. Each month, she took a group of singles out, got them drunk and set them up on dates. Brooke went on to present an online video series titled 'Sexpert' that appeared on The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Brisbane Times websites and was the highest-rating online video series on the platform. Brooke went on to write about sex, dating and relationships for a number of publications including Women's Health, Marie Claire USA and was the resident dating expert for Yahoo!. Lesbian for a Year is her first book.
