'Growing up, nobody told me that I would get to work closely with the Prime Minister, ortravel the world and speak on matters that are important to me. Instead, myupbringing and my surroundings placed me into a dim echo-chamber, where I couldn'tsee myself beyond what was in front of me.'
Reggie Nelson had a tough upbringing growing up on a council estate in eastLondon. He was surrounded by alcoholic parents, family arguments, youth crimeand local gangs. When his father suddenly died and his mother who workedmultiple jobs to get by had to bail him out of prison at age 15, Reggie knew heneeded to change. After catching an episode of Joan Rivers' How'd You Get So Rich,Reggie was inspired to get any advice to help him turn his life around. So, he got ona train to one of London's richest areas and started knocking on doors.
Inspiring, moving and empowering, Opening Doors is a story of the people whohelped, mentored and guided Reggie. It is a story of how visibility, insight and rolemodels can give anyone the platform to learn and succeed. It is the story of howwhen one door closes, another door will always open...
