Online quizmaster Jay Flynn was down on his luck as the Covid pandemic broke. He'd lost his pub, The Crown in Lancashire, which he'd been running with his wife, and was looking for ways to keep the loyal locals together for whom the regular weekly quiz was a lifeline. He set up a quiz night on Facebook but forgot to mark the event as private. Before long 800 people had registered their interest and it was about to go viral around the world. It was the start of an online international quiz sensation, and a lifetime away from Jay's two years on the streets of London when he'd nearly taken his own life. Back then he was saved by a community, and now - through his quizzing community - he was helping others through the bleakest of periods. Helping to raise more than a million for charity in 2021 received an MBE from Prince William for 'lifting the spirits of a nation'. With his quizzes still popular and he his own regular slot on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 Show, Jay Flynn tells his incredible story.
Jay Flynn is 'the nation's quizmaster' through his online quiz and with his slot on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 show. He lives in Lancashire with his wife Sarah, an NHS administrator, and their young son. He's previously published two x Jay's Virtual Pub Quiz Book. He writes all his own quiz questions.
