Description

The White Witch of Wimbledon is the story of a very special Cockney lady who overcame a life-long physical handicap, pain, abuse and separation and neglect from her parents. She pulled herself up by her own bootstraps. She raised three children as a single mother. In this book, she shares her dreams, goals and faith in God and good people. A true Gypsy, Doreen never waivers in her love of family, children and animals. This is a story of inspiration for everyone dealing with a physical handicap or abuse, neglect and a loveless life. Doreen reaches out and draws you into her world and her heart.

Author Bio

Recently retired as an attorney with The Florida Bar after 21 years of practice. I went to law school after more than 20 years as a Miami newspaper writer, editor and columnist. I spent a few years in Washington, D.C., as a research assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Crime. I interviewed witnesses for Congressional hearings and wrote reports and speeches for the Chairman, the late Honorable Claude Pepper. I co-authored Sex and the Senior Citizen based on 1,000 interviews with senior citizens, a book which led to a change in the Social Security law. My co-author and I sold the play rights and Sex and the Senior Citizen was the basis for an off-Broadway play.
