Growing up as a mixed-race kid on a rundown estate in Sheffield, Richard Towers was born fighting. He had to battle poverty, violence and discrimination daily. By the time he reached his teens, he was a 6ft 8in hulk of burning anger and fell in with the wrong circles.
Richard ended up committing serious violent and drug related crimes, and aged just 20, he was handed a 13-year prison sentence. But while inside, he discovered the craft of boxing through bare knuckle straighteners and upon his release he was taken in by a kindly boxing coach, Brendan Ingle.
This is the start of the rest of Richard's life. He becomes Richard The Inferno' Towers. Focusing his energies on training, he goes on to be sparring partner to Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury and, ultimately, European Heavyweight Champion.
