Author Bio

David Frier is Senior Lecturer in Portuguese at the University of Leeds. He is a leading authority on Portuguese literature and the author of Visions of the Self in the Novels of Camilo Castelo Branco (1850-1870). Formerly Visiting Professor of Portuguese at the University of California at Los Angeles; Visiting Professor of Portuguese at the University of California at Santa Barbara; Lecturer in Portuguese and Spanish at the University of Edinburgh.
