O. R. Dathorne is a member of the department of English at the University of Kentucky. He has taught at universities in Nigeria and Sierra Leone and served as a UNESCO adviser in Sierra Leone. He also has taught at Ohio State University, Howard University, and the University of Wisconsin and lectured at Yale, Federal City College, Michigan State, and other universities in and out of the United States. He is the author of three novels and editor of a number of anthologies of Black literature, and has written widely in journals on his subject.
