'I want shocks! Ive heard they are fun and a lot of blood rushes to your head.' 77-year-old Norma is having a tricky day. She cant finish the crossword and Joy keeps stealing her recliner. Not to mention Helen next door has twisted her ankle falling from a weather balloon, theyve run out of Class A drugs and the Utility Inspector just popped round to see if its time for her involuntary euthanasia... Animals is a wicked satire set in a world where everyone over 60 is tossed on the scrapheap, children are hothoused, and being a burden on society is the ultimate crime.
Whip-smart... one of the most inventive pieces of theatre I have seen in a very long time. You could go see this production and tell your grandchildren how you saw that Emma Adams before she got famous. * Planet London [on Freakoid] *
Emma Adams was in an underground band before becoming a writer and theatre maker. She has had work commissioned for the Keats House Festival, where she led creative writing workshops, and also lectures at Leeds Met University.
