Rob Hayes recently won the Tom Erhardt Award for Most Promising Playwright. He was also shortlisted in 2013 for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum and the Royal Exchange Theatre Hodgkiss Award with director Ned Bennett. Robs play STEP 9 (OF 12) ran in the West End at the Trafalgar Studios in 2012, starring Blake Harrison and directed by Tom Attenborough. It had previously been produced at the New Britannia Theatre in 2011. Also in 2011 A Butcher of Distinction received its premiere at the Cock Tavern before transferring to the Kings Head. The play then ran in 2013 at the Old 505 Theatre in Sydney and the Cockpit Theatre in London. Robs stageplay Selling Clive won best overall production at the Lost Theatre Festival in 2010. Rob is currently adapting STEP 9 (OF 12) as a feature film for Matt Lucas' John Stanley Productions, as well as developing an original sitcom for them. He also has an original comedy series, False Prophet, in development with Left Bank Pictures.
