Cost of Living received its New York premiere at Manhattan Theatre Club in June 2017, following a world premiere at Williamstown Theatre Festival.
Majok, born in Poland before immigrating to the United States at a young age, frequently gives voices to the voiceless and explores underrepresented communities in her writing.

Majok is an alumna of EST's Youngblood and Women's Project Lab.
She has taught playwriting at Williams College, Wesleyan University, SUNY Purchase, Primary Stages ESPA, NJRep, and as an assistant to Paula Vogel at Yale.
She is a 2018-2019 Hodder Fellow at Princeton University.

She is the recipient of a Lucille Lortel Award, Lilly Award, Helen Hayes Award, Lanford Wilson Prize, Greenfield Prize, Jean Kennedy Smith Award, two Jane Chambers Awards, NYTW's 2050 Fellowship, NNPN Smith Prize for Political Playwriting, and The Merage Foundation Fellowship for The American Dream. Majok was the 2015-2016 PoNY Fellow at the Lark Play Development Center and is a 2018-2019 Hodder Fellow at Princeton University.
