New play by acclaimed poet Simon Armitage.
Simon Armitage was born in Huddersfield in 1963. After reading Geography at Portsmouth Polytechnic he went on to do a course in Social Work and Psychology at Manchester University. For a time he worked in Manchester as a Probation Officer. More recent publications include Moon Country (with Glyn Maxwell), CloudCuckooLand, All Points North (Penguin), Killing Time, and Short and Sweet, an anthology of short poems, which he edited. In 2001 his debut novel, Little Green Man, was published by Penguin. Two new works of poetry, The Universal Home Doctor and Travelling Songs, are published in 2002. Simon Armitage has written poetry extensively for radio and television. He lives in a village near Huddersfield.
