Description

Eugene and Maxines teenage romance first ignited on the dance floor, but life has spun them in and out of each others arms ever since. Now, Eugene spends his weekends DJingstill living for the musicwhile struggling all week to keep his Northern Soul-themed discount home improvement and white goods emporium from going under.

Just when he thinks things couldnt possibly get worse, Maxine reappears with one more request one that will change everything. Their son has just gotten out of jail, and he needs Eugenes help. Cue Storm Liam!

A laugh-out-loud, soul-rich, cash-poor story of a dysfunctional Northern Soul family just trying to keep it together on a run-down northern high street.

Author Bio

Mick Martin has written for theatre, TV and radio with commissions from BBC, ITV, Sky TV, Leeds Playhouse, Bolton Octagon, Hull Truck, Red Ladder and many more. He is also one half of Bent Architect, a Bradford based theatre company creating innovative, site specific and touring work nationally and internationally, for whom he wrote The Northern School in 2016, This Space Is Occupied in 20218 and the award winning Full English in 2021. He is a co producer Northern Soul Productions with Alex OToole and also creates verbatim community works drawn from oral history research as part of History In Action CIC.
