Crispin Whittell has written and directed a number of plays including Killing Her, Killing Him, Happy Valley, and Party Tricks. He was Arts Council Resident Dramatist at Nottingham Playhouse in 1998. Film credits include Happy Birthday, directed by Helen Mirren, and a short film Hot Dog, which he wrote and directed himself.
