This story of a young womans personal liberation set in Greenwich Village of the early 1900s is played out in thirty-one sparse scenes of love and betrayal. The title play, What of the Night, is an epic drama of four short plays on the individuals struggle with poverty, love, and sorrow. The volume also includes The Summer in Gossensass and Enter the Night.
