The lyrics in The Voice from Norway surrounds the many daily chores on a small mountain farm where the author grew up. They address the the various farm tools and how they are used. The lyrics also venture into the life in the Old Town , sorrow and joy, glory and what the eyes may see during the seasons of the year on the mountains , by the the rivers and the ocean. The lyrics explore rivalry between the sun and the moon and venture into love and jealousy.
The author of the poetry was born and grew up on a small mountain farm in the western part of Norway. Many of the lyrics are inspired by the life on the farm and the nature of the fjords and mountains around that also includes the effect on people in their social rural setting. The photos are from the rsta community where both the author and the photographer live today.The translator recently retired as Norwegian / English teacher and administrator for the International Summer School at the University of Oslo, Norway. She lives in Northfield, Minnesota, USA.The photo illustrations are by the professional freelance photographer who lives in the home town of the author, rsta, Norway.
