This compilation of long form, short form, and micro poetry is heavily influenced by the author's personal knowledge of mental illness. Each poem is based on her experience of leaving home for the first time, and things she has seen and felt through her eyes, heart, mind, and soul.
Courtney Hype is a Kansas native that has been writing about her struggles with bipolar disorder for over a decade. She is a full-time single mom, the daughter of a therapist, and an emotional support human for her dog, Isabella. Courtney strives to raise awareness for mental health by maintaining a blog documenting her experiences with mental illness. Her goal is to help give voice to those who feel too embarrassed or misunderstood to speak up.JJ is an artist living in Idaho. He married his high school sweetheart and together they have one son. JJ graduated with an Associates in Arts in 2006 and has been creating art for over 10 years. His work consists of custom artwork, comics, digital art, and more.
