Poetry inspired by lessons learned from paying attention to the natural world, featuring landscape photography by the author. The poems were written over the past several years, in particular during the beginning of the global pandemic in 2020, when shelter-in-place orders led to more time spent outdoors exploring the wild places and natural landscape of California's beautiful central coast. Color photographs of Carmel Beach, the Carmel River lagoon, and Big Sur are included as a form of memory, reflection, and inspiration.
Adam Jeselnick is an architect and author of this book of poems, Look Up. The poetry is inspired by his passion for the wild landscape and explorations in nature over the past several years, in particular from the beginning of the global pandemic in 2020. The poems include observations and lessons learned from paying attention to the beauty of the natural world, musings on love, and place-based reflections of walks and hikes around the central coast of California. Based in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Adam practices sustainable architecture for residential clients and local businesses. This is his first book.
