Description

Mapping Home is a love letter, the culmination of a project that lived within Savita's heart for many years. The book is a keepsake for her meditations on the ordinary, memories of home and loved ones, and the pain of heartbreaking loss, but also finding joy in the unlikeliest places if only we take a moment to pause and ponder.

Her 16-year-old son, Arjun, co-authored the chapbook, bringing his unique lens to exploring these themes. The poems trace the trajectory of Arjun's evolving ideas and perspectives from 8 -16 years.

Mapping Home invites you to reflect on your journey(s) of memories, what makes you wonder, what Home, in all its complexities, means to you, and where it dwells in you; Inside/Outside or somewhere in between And at the heart of it, to delight in the magic of the quotidian moments of life; the fragrance of a sweet dessert, the glory of a majestic mountain, the ethereal light of dawn, music from the piano that fills a home, and the aching beauty that nature gifts us consistently and unfailingly.
