Description

Midnight Arcade is an "easy read" poetry book which covers a wide range of topics. It was written with no regard to poetry rules---or at least a healthy disdain for them. You will find a vast array of rhyming and non-rhyming techniques in Midnight Arcade. On the brighter side are poems dealing with love of nature, love of God, faith, hope, marriage, parenting and growing old. On the darker side are poems dealing with failure, doubt, despair, and death. The eclectic nature of the book makes it fairly user friendly for anyone seeking an hour of humor or spiritual insight or a confirmation that life, indeed, occasionally just sucks.

Author Bio

Gloria Eleanor Porter Pope was born in Logan, Utah. She attended Weber State College and the University of Utah where she received her Associate and Bachelor's degrees in nursing. Following graduation, she served a health mission to the Philippines for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked in ICU-CCU, Surgery and L&D for ten years. She retired when her third child was born to devote full time to her growing family. When she isn't writing, you can find her cooking, sewing, embroidering, singing with the Durango Chorale Society, composing music, or killing expensive plants. She is not a gardener. She and her husband, Charles, live in Hesperus, Colorado. They are the parents of five children.

Holly Anne Pope Manohar was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. Blessed with many passions and talents, Holly has studied several subjects and explored many art mediums. She holds a bachelors degree in art from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Dealing with depression has led her to a life full of healing art and spiritual practices. Creativity and Spirituality are one and the same for her. She is a certified yoga instructor and is looking forward to becoming certified in Iyengar Yoga and Ayurvedic Medicine. When Holly isn't working, you can find her dancing in the kitchen, doing handstands in the living room, reading her favorite web comics, walking her dog by the river that runs through their property, or laughing with her husband, Kannan.
