"Our Trilogy" is a collection of poetry that invites readers to experience a new depth of connection with themselves, others, and their Creator. Written over decades of his life, Bill Cullen's approachable and deceptively simple verses invite readers to slow down, savor the moment, and seek the truth of existence. The themes of meaning, growth, and happiness testify to the deep relationships Bill has with his beloved friends and family, his Creator, and his true self. This book includes Spanish translations so that more friends across the continents can enjoy the lyrical lessons of his journey.
Bill Cullen is a fifth-generation Oklahoman, Sooner born and Sooner bred, and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. After attending law school for one semester, Bill entered a treatment program for alcohol and drug addiction and has remained sober since August 9, 1991. From that day forward, his primary purpose has been to share a spiritual way of life with those in need. Many failures and even more successes have taught him that growth is an ongoing journey that often happens when we least expect it.
Bill strongly believes that life is a prayer - that each thought, word, and deed is a petition to the Creator. It will always be answered. He also believes that we manifest heaven or hell while right here on earth. Therefore, he tries to be mindful of what he thinks, careful of what he says, and slow and intentional in his actions.
Prior to retirement, Bill spent more than a decade in the Rocky Mountain region. In Montana, he found the spirit of Christ through the Cursillo Movement and his study of books like The Sermon on The Mount, The Imitation of Christ, The Divine Milieu, and others. First-nation cousins taught him to sing, dance, and pray in the sacred Lakota Way. He was also introduced to great spiritual teachers like Chief Leonard Crow Dog (the spiritual leader at Wounded Knee), Chief Alfonso Castillo (the first non-native to dance at the Sundance Circle), and Chief Mike Hull (the first white man to be recognized as a Sundance Chief by traditional Lakota elders). These verses are dedicated to these great teachers and all those who have informed and inspired Bill's path.
Moira Lynch is a writer, editor, and spiritual seeker who takes a keen interest in the transformational power of poetry.
