A collection of linked poems inspired by Kingsway, Vancouver's oldest thoroughfare, which is neither a "street" nor an "avenue" but a "way" of thinkingabout cities, people, and different points of view. It demarcates the community of the living: a thoroughfare that is repeated in cities across the country, a world of strip malls, Chinese restaurants, and car repair shops. Kingsway is a place to get lost, to lose oneselfboth a starting point and a destination.
Turner's work, like Kingsway, is an epic traversal, criss-crossed with beauty and trash.

Awards include the 1999 BC Book Prize for Fiction and a 1996 Genie Award for Music/Original Song; as well, a finalist for the 1991 Dorothy Livesay BC Book Prize for Poetry.
