From @wilderpoetry comes a heavily expandedrevised edition of Nocturnal, a collection of poetry and beautifully illustrated black-and-white imagery inspired by darkened days and sleepless nights. Poetry meetspresentation in each of the four sections ("Dusk," "Northern Lights," "Howl," "Lucid Dreams,"), which trace the author's continuing journey of self-discovery while illuminating a path for others along the way. Ink stains, landscapes, dreamlike animals, blackened pages, and textured spreads create a multifaceted reading experience. And true to the moniker, these poems are linked by a motif of "the wild." Celebrating the art of self-love poetry with both word and image,Nocturnalwill leave readers comforted, curious, and inspired to explore the world around them.
I am an open window. Tangled sheets at 1am.
I count stars instead of sheep and dream with my eyes open. Its how I know that Ill always remember them.
My creative journey began as a child when I used to paint the sky on the back of my hands so the folded paper cranes on my bedroom floor had a reason to come to life. I was born a dreamer and 33 years later, I still am.
I arrived a writer because my heart and body was creatively broken. I felt I had failed a relationship with my artistic expression, but looking back I realise this was meant to be part of my story. I longed for a different outlet I found it and haven't let go.
My words are not just for me.
They are for you.
They are for all of us.
When you are home, then I am, too.
