Description

These poems are partly based on texts Egger wrote while a fellow at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles. The original was published by the German publisher Suhrkamp Verlag in 2001. Translator and composer Michael Pisaro collaborated with Egger to create a new English text for this bi-lingual edition, laid out in parallel construction, as lineated poetry above and prose below.

Author Bio

Oswald Egger was born in 1963 in Lana, Italy, and lives in Vienna and Hombroich in Germany. Among his several book publications are Die Erde der Rede, Gleich und Gleich, Blaubarts Treue, Juli, September August, Sommern, Herde der Rede, and To Observe the Obverse. He has won several literary prizes, including the Mondsee Poetry Award, the George Saiko Award, the Brentano Award and the Lyrikpreis Meran.
