Dr. Marlene is a storyteller and freelance writer. Her articles and poems appear monthly in several publications.
She is a retired family physician, now teaching nutrition at the graduate school level. Her nurturing spirit is expressed through her prose and poems. She devotes her time to her passions of understanding nutrition and advancing her storytelling techniques, be it written or spoken. As a volunteer speaker, she enjoys sharing her knowledge with community, professional, and Toastmaster audiences. Her speeches are diverse, ranging from health education to personal vignettes, but always with a whimsical, positive twist.
Other gifts of retirement include the time to enjoy her hobbies of gardening, food adventures, writing, and travel. Whether she is at home or on the road, you will find her writing about her personal experiences.
