Like the New Yorker said of her last collection, [Mlinkos] intoxicating, cerebral poems display a unique sense of humor and mystery. Widely acknowledged by both critics and peers as one of the best younger American poets, Mlinko has also made a name for herself as a critic (notably in The Nation and Poetry magazine). In 2009, she received the Randall Jarrell Award for Criticism from the Poetry Foundation. Poems from this collection have appeared in high profile magazines like the Nation, New Yorker, and London Review of Books, as well as a number of poetics journals including Poetry magazine, Chicago Review, and Colorado Review.
Ange Mlinko is the author of Starred Wire, a National Poetry Series Award winner, and Matines, a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year. Poems from this collection have appeared in The New Yorker, The London Review of Books, Poetry magazine, and elsewhere. A longtime East Coast resident and language columnist for The Nation, she currently lives in Beirut.
