A colouring book to encourage girls to be confident, curious, and above all the best versions of themselves.
This book features 30 detailed images of fantastic girls to colour in from brave adventurers and awesome athletes to ground-breaking activists, they are all strong, active and inspirational. Each image is accompanied by a motivational quote from a famous woman, such as Serena Williams and Malala Yousafzai, rendered in a hand-lettered style. These provide a confidence-building message to appeal to all girls, no matter their dreams or ambitions, as well as allowing scope for extra creativity and colouring.
Illustrated by Amy Blackwell, illustrator of the Blue Peter award-winning Rise Up.
Amy Blackwell was born and raised in the middle of England to two creative parents, and was actively encouraged from day one to paint, print, make, mend and draw. It was in her blood and unavoidable.
Shes inspired by the weird and wonderful, clashing colours, the natural world, history, fashion and folklore - which is to say most things. Her drawings appear in all shapes and sizes, sometimes appearing on a digital platform or a bit of cardboard, wooden beads to fabric, walls to watercolours. Amys work is bright and colourful, playful, a bit scribbly and often can be a little bit of an overload on the eyes. "If in doubt, cover it in patterns" is a quote she could quite happily live by.
