Author Bio

Rachel Piercey is a London-based poet, editor and tutor who also writes for children. Her poems have been published in magazines including The Poetry Review, The Rialto, Magma, Poetry News, The Interpreters House, The Tangerine, Poems in Which, The Scores and Butchers Dog, as well as three pamphlets, The Flower and the Plough, Rivers Wanted and Disappointing Alice. Rachel regularly visits schools, libraries and festivals to read and perform her work, encouraging children to appreciate poetry and feel empowered to write their own.

Freya Hartas is a UK based illustrator specialising in childrens books. She lives in the vibrant city of Bristol with her partner and their ancient black cat Katsu and works from her cosy, cluttered desk in a shared studio down the road. She graduated from Falmouth University with a first-class honours in BA Illustration in 2014. Freya loves to conjure up humorous characters, animals and monsters, creating the most fantastical worlds for them to inhabit and get lost in.
