There are lots of animals in the river. Where are they hiding and what are they doing In this innovative lift-the-flap book, little ones can pore over the beautiful collaged pages and explore under rocks, logs and lily-pads to find out lots of interesting facts about river wildlife. This is the perfect introduction to the outdoors.
Katharine McEwen has been illustrating since graduating from Kingston University with a BA (Hons) in 1996. Over the years, she has received commissions for editorials, greeting cards and advertising, but has found her bold, graphic watercolours and collaged illustrations have been particularly appealing to children's publishers. She is the author-illustrator of Bear Hug and has also illustrated Michael Rosen's Send for a Superhero and Tony Bradman's Is That a Coconut amongst other titles. She is fortunate to have worked with an array of well-known authors and, to date, has illustrated around forty children's books for all ages, several having won awards. Alongside working on picture books, Katharine is a keen novice potter, enjoying the decoration of the pots as much as creating their shapes - either on the wheel or hand-building.
