A touch-and-feel book with 6 wombats and 6 different textured patches.
Meet five adorable wombats in this exciting addition to the much-loved That's not my series. Babies love the best-selling That's not my books with their bold illustrations, patches to stroke, and a mouse to spot on every page, all designed to develop sensory and language awareness.
I can tell you something about the Usborne Touchy-Feely books - it's not just the little ones who love these! The Narwhal version I included in my recent Book Bonanza to celebrate Book Week was the most highly sought after 'lucky dip' out of all 50 books on offer - and the year 8 girl who won it was absolutely ecstatic!! The patches of texture included in each illustration whether shiny, fuzzy, smooth or fluffy will delight the littlest readers as they touch each special spot encouraging their sensory awareness as well as vocabulary. This is such a cute little series for babies and toddlers - and of course, wombats are particularly endearing so this is bound to be a real hit with the teeny ones. I'll be popping this one into a parcel for a friend expecting her first baby and I'm sure it will be very well received. Why not include it in your next baby shower parcel -- Sue Warren * Just So Stories *
The latest in this series of over 150 charming board books for our very youngest readers that encourage them to use their senses to discover the world around them focuses on t e wombat, such an iconic Australian creature. With shiny claws, smooth paws, soft tummy and several other distinctive features. little hands will enjoy exploring the textural elements that are the hallmark of the series. Like its companion which highlights the koala, it teaches our littlies to look more closely at the details that distinguish the wombat from other marsupials . The repetitive text and clear pictures encourage prediction, thus developing those early concepts about print that are so essential while engaging them with the reading experience in a way that only print books can. Definitely one to add to the Christmas stocking or baby shower gift! -- Barbara Braxton * Barbara Braxton's newsleter *
