Description

"What a whole lot of hoo-ha, this 'let's all be merry' - the dinners, the pressies and fuss! A load of old CODSWOLLOP!" hollered old Jerry. "But leave early then - if you must!" Miserly old Jerry from the Kai Corner Dairy is the New Zealand equivalent of Scrooge. Children will love spotting the odd Kiwi icon in Webb's humorous illustrations.

Author Bio

Chris Gurney is the author of thirteen Scholastic New Zealand picture books, a large number of them part of the popular Kiwi Corkers series, which retells wellknown tales with a New Zealand flavour. Her stories are told with a faultless sense of rhyme and rhythm and show great humorous talent. Chris lives in East Auckland with her family. Philip Webb is a Wellington-based illustrator who has previously teamed up with Joy Cowley to produce the picture book Fly Pie, but might be best known for his illustrations in Diana Neild's Piggity- Wiggity Jiggity Jig series. Two titles he illustrated for Scholastic have received Honour Awards at the NZ Post Children's Book Awards - Dragor and Piggity-Wiggity Jiggity Jig.
