Author Bio

Izzy Quinngrew up in Sydney and likes to watch the humpback whales migrating north in winter.

Kristina Kisteris an illustrator and character designer from Essen, Germany. After studying Communication Design, she worked as a junior art director at an ad agency in Dsseldorf before embarking on a career in illustration. Kristinas creative practice includes illustrating childrens books and developing characters and concepts for German TV shows. With a background as a graphic designer, Kristinas style is characterised by geometric shapes, unusual colour palettes and clear outlines. Working mostly in digital forms, Kristina also experiments with watercolour and pencil textures to give her artwork an analogue feel.

Helene Magisson is an award winning illustrator. She started her artistic career as a painting restorer in Paris, where she was also trained in the art of medieval illumination. Helene has lived in Africa, France and India. She is now settled down in Australia with her family. Her travels both inspire and enrich her work.She has illustrated several books including classics like The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams Bianco and more contemporary stories, such as the 2018 CBCA NotableSlowly! Slowly! by T.M. Clark and the 2020 CBCA NotableLittle Puggles Song by Vikki Conley.

Vlad Stankovic is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Sydney, Australia. In his work, which he creates with both digital and traditional tools, the inspiration comes from science and nature on one hand and fantasy and fairy tales on the other. He has done illustrations for numerous books, greeting cards and documentaries, and has participated in various publications and exhibitions worldwide.
