BabyVision What Next is based on Baby Science which finds that between 4 and 5 months, babies start to learn and see movement in still images. The images in this book have been designed to capture motion that babies will see in the world around them which babies will be learning to anticipate. Building on the success of Look Touch Learn, BabyVision has been developed with a leading university baby lab. Each book in the new BabyVision series is designed to promote early visual development through targeted stimulation, using topics such as repetition, optical illusions, odd one out and sequencing. A bold and contrasting palette of colours is optimally suited to infant retinas, and looks completely different to more traditional books for babies.
Leader of the Sussex Colour Group and the Sussex Baby Lab in the School of Psychology at the University of Sussex, Professor Anna Franklin is a leading expert in the fields of Colour Psychology and Perceptual Development. Professor Franklins research includes infant and child testing, eye-tracking, neuroimaging, and other diverse methods of testing. Andy Passchier (they/them) is a non-binary illustrator from the Netherlands, currently living in the USA. They have illustrated many childrens books with a focus on identity, positivity and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community.
