Kesi Augustine is an author, educator, and scholar. She was born in Syracuse, New York, and raised downstate in New York City. Kesi filled her summers with books from local Queens libraries. Nowadays, when Kesi isn't reading or writing, she is teaching language arts. Kesi lives in Central Florida. You can visit her at kesiaugustine.com. Faith Takes the Train is her first traditionally published picture book. Mokshini is a multidisciplinary artist and the illustrator of Faith Takes the Train and The Golden Hoops. Her creative output ranges from painting to concept sketching to editorial collaborations and textile design. In Mokshini's work, you can find her signature witty yet sophisticated take on daily life in the city, which is born of her whimsical portrayal of characters and a passion for storytelling. The inspiration she gets from everyday elements of New York City--its residents' eccentric personalities, the fashion, the architecture--are why New Zealander Mokshini now calls Brooklyn home.
